Well, the family reunion came and passed. We learned how Momma Mary and Big Papa Stud met, how Mike discovered women during his primitive years, and how the Seander’s are one tight-knit family overall.
Through all the storytelling, it was great to hear how each member contributed to who Mike is now as a person. His parents didn’t groom him or prepare him to be anyone specific growing up; they just let Steve do Steve. Whether it was Big Papa Stud teaching him how to sort out differences with others, Momma Mary being an MVP, or sister Marisa making sure he stayed out of any real trouble, Mike was given the confidence and wisdom he needed to succeed in adulthood.
On the flip side, Mike and Kilmer also touched on what happens when you’re not so lucky in having a strong support system like they both had growing up. For example, if someone didn’t have the best home life when they were a kid, their problems usually connect back to those experiences as an adult.
So when you find yourself at a bar, and someone is asking for smoke, it’s best to go back and remember they might not have ever been taught right in the first place before throwing hands. People are not born bad, they’re raised.
Lots of love, lots of laughter, lots of learning in this episode. Main takeaway on what keeps the Seander family so close? It’s all in the DNA.
Below you will find a quick breakdown of several specific conversations of the podcast between Mike and his family. There is a story in there about Post tatting up Mike and the boys at 6:00 a.m. one time. Go and listen to that one. It’s a great story, just know the tat’s were charged to the game. As always, thank you to all our listeners out there. Special thanks to Jon Kilmer and the rest of the team for making this all come to life.
